State of the Church Address
The state of the church address was a powerful worship service and message as our General Pastor and Associate General Pastor shared. Here are a few excerpts from the address.
WHAT MAKES A MINISTRY WORK?
God and willing people equals EFFECTIVE MINISTRY!
What does God ask willing people to do?
1. PRAY
We need to always seek God for direction in our lives and in our ministry. Jesus taught us how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13, and we also need to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
2. BE AVAILABLE
The greatest ability is AVAILABILITY! (2 Timothy 4:1-5 and Matthew 6:33-34). God uses those that make themselves available.
3. WORK IN HARMONY WITH LEADERSHIP
If we are going to get to the place God is leading us, we have to do it together. This means that everyone needs to work in harmony with each other and with the leadership of the ministry.

4. STAY FOCUSED
This means that we have to always keep our focus on what God has called us to do and not be distracted by the things around us.
James 1:8, Matthew 6:24
5. STAY ENCOURAGED
There are a lot of negative factors in the world today, and we have to stay encouraged in God so we can obtain the goals God has set for us!

ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF 2007:
March:
- Confirmation of God's direction (CTMU)!
April:
- We informed the key leaders of changes!
May/June:
- 2007 Senior Pastors Tour!
June/July:
- We informed all the church members of changes!
August:
- Pastor Ulysse and his family relocated to Virginia.
- The Norfolk congregation moved out of their current building.
November:
- Kenneth Ray and his family relocated to Illinois (CFC Great Lakes).
- 2007 Israel Trip.
- Pastor Coulton visits from Sri Lanka.
December:
- We sold the property in San Diego and God blessed the fellowship there with a place to meet!
- We purchased the property for our new World Headquarters on Azalea Garden Road!
- Patrick Taylor and Richard Snow (from the International Office) relocated to Norfolk.
- Todd Morgan and Josh Knights moved to Everett, Washington to head up the fellowship there!
- The Military Communication Center is now up and running!
PLANS AND GOALS FOR 2008:
Building Our Future Capital Campaign:
- Combined with all local building fund efforts.
- Monthly updates supporters.
- Web pages, video and pictures of progress.
Stewardship Sermon Series: March-April
Change "Time to Give Thanks" to "Missions that Matter" in Spring.
Ministers College to open in August of 2008.
CTMU:
- General Pastor relocated by March 1sr.
- Phase One of building ready by end of March.
- All key leaders in place by July.
LONG TERM:
March of 2009 - Dedication service for World Headquarters.
2010 - International Conference.
2011 - Israel Trip.
100 visitors a week in Norfolk.
50 in every fellowship.
1,000 baptisms a year.
Open 4 new fellowships world-wide each year.
